Donald Meints, age 85, of Athens, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Mason City Area Nursing Home.
He was born July 15, 1940 in Peoria, IL the son Aaron and Minnie Brauer - Meints.
Donald married Pamela Beecham on September 7, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin, Illinois.
Mourning his passing are his sons, Vance Meints of South Carolina, Craig (wife Amy) Meints of Florida, and Joel (wife Jennifer) Meints of Lincoln; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, William Meints of Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by both parents and his wife, Pam.
Don worked as a mail carrier at USPS for most of his life.
Donald was in the US Coast Guard.
Don was a member of the Athens Christian Church.
He enjoyed woodworking, reading and sports.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Burial of cremains will be held at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin at a later date.
