Donald Mucci

Donald Mucci, 80, of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, formerly of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. He was the beloved husband of 26 years to Cheryl Holtman-Mucci. Born in New Britain on April 22, 1945, Donald was the son of the late Angelo and Lucy (Lucente) Mucci. He grew up in New Britain and later moved to Enfield, where he raised his family. Throughout his working life, Donald held a variety of professional roles. His career included Quality Assurance work in the aerospace industry, employment in the Transportation Division at Combustion Engineering, and ownership and operation of Movies Galore Video Store in Enfield for more than seven years. He later retired as a Sales and Program Manager in the construction industry. Outside of work, Donald was a man of many passions. He was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and Little League Baseball and proudly served as an amateur league baseball umpire for many years. He was also an avid supporter of UConn Women's Basketball, rarely missing a game. Donald enjoyed NHRA drag racing and took great pride in building his race-worthy Oldsmobile vehicle. At home, he found joy working in his yard and garden, where his award-winning garlic earned several prizes at the Four Town Fair. In addition to his wife, Cheryl, Donald is survived by his daughters, Melissa Mucci and her husband David Schillinger of Enfield, and Beth Mucci and her husband James Mooney of the United Kingdom; his grandchildren, Elden Schillinger, Avery Mooney, and Oscar Mooney; his sister, Marie Tuccitto; and his former spouse, Therese Mucci. He was predeceased by his brother, William Mucci, and his beloved canine companion, Jet, "The Big Dog," whose presence was always close to his heart. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
