He was born December 5, 1944, in Boonville, the son of the late Robert Junior and Mildred A. (Hooper) Nichols. On November 25, 1977, at Memorial Baptist Church in Nelson, he was united in marriage to Joyce Ann Cairer, who survives of the home.
Donald was raised near Nelson and graduated from Nelson High School in 1962. He farmed alongside his father for many years before working as a tool maker until his retirement.
A talented craftsman, Donald enjoyed blacksmithing and the camaraderie it brought. He was a proud member of the Blacksmiths Association of Missouri (BAM).
He was raised in Memorial Baptist Church and now is a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church. He faithfully taught Sunday School for many years.
Donald had a warm spirit and a mischievous sense of humor that brought laughter to those around him. He loved people and never missed a chance to make someone smile.
In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by two siblings, Debbie Davis Kessler (Tim) of Kansas City and David Nichols (Kathy) of Cedar Grove, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Nichols.
