Born in Dallas, TX on March 23, 1965 "Don" also known as "Pawdaddy" to his Grandchildren and many others, departed this world on October 15, 2025 after a brief illness.
Don's early years were spent in Pleasant Grove in Dallas, TX where he grew up. He was a proud Apache at Spruce High School graduating in 1983. Don lived in Mesquite, TX, moving to Dallas in the mid 90's where he resided until his last move to Heartland, TX in 2018. Don worked in the moving business with his Dad for many years. In later years, Don was employed as a Government Insurer in the mortgage industry. He had just completed his 15 year anniversary with PrimeLending, working in the industry for over 25 years. Don loved to attend dirt track racing, especially sprint car races. He was a great country western dancer. In his later years, he spent most of his free time at home with family. His favorite pass-time was being with his Grandchildren. Don loved the simple life. He loved going out to the country to spend the weekend with close friends, playing Farkle and sitting by a big campfire.
Preceded in death by both sets of Grandparents, his Dad, Don Sr., and his only Grandson, Rylan, Don is survived by his Mother, Regina Patterson of the home, Brother, Greg Patterson of Dallas, TX, Daughter, Brittany (Bennie) Dixon of Gatesville, TX, three Granddaughters, Abigail Patterson of the home, Madison Patterson-Oncale of Houma, LA, Kennedi Hancock of Swainsbro, GA, Family Member Roger Thorne of the home, 2 nephews, 2 nieces, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews and several close friends he called his chosen family.
