Donald B. Plumer

Donald B. Plumer, formerly of Beacon and Newburgh, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at the age of 72.

Born on June 9, 1953, in Dover, New Hampshire, Donald was the son of the late Donald Plumer and Margaret Porreca. He retired from Mount Ellis Paper Company in New Windsor after many years of dedicated service. A man deeply committed to helping others, Donald volunteered for many years with the Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He was a life member of the Beacon Engine Fire Company and also a member of the Middlehope Fire Company. In addition, Donnie worked part-time for many years with Halvey Funeral Home and Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey in Beacon, where he was known for his reliability, kindness, and quiet dedication.

Donald is survived by his brother, Dale Plumer and his wife, Marilyn, of Beacon; his sister-in-law, Jackie Plumer; his nieces, Rebecca Stoddard, Tiffany DeVincenzi, and Amber Plumer; and his nephews, Scott Plumer, Todd Plumer, Brent Plumer, and Tyler Plumer.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Charles "Bruce" Plumer, Douglas Plumer and his stepfather, Michael Porreca.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, February 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. Members of Beacon Engine will hold services at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Private cremation will follow, and Donnie will be laid to rest in the family plot in Dover, New Hampshire.
