Donald Raufman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farewell Funeral Service - Palm Bluffs on Aug. 5, 2022.
Donald Raufman passed away on July 28, 2022 in Fresno, California. He was born on May 30th, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio. In Don's early years he played baseball, learned to hunt, and formed his life's trade by going to work with his dad at the age of fourteen. In 1972, Don and his family moved to Clovis, California, where he met his wife of forty-two years, Judy. Don and Judy's daughter, Jessica, was later added to the family in 1988.
Donald Raufman is preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca, father Donald, and mother, Helen. Don is survived by his wife, Judy Raufman, daughter Jessica Raufman, and Nicholas Trujillo. He is also leaving behind his sister, Sandy, her husband Dave, and their children: Caleb and Alexis, Chandler and Meghan, and Christian. Don is also survived by his brother David, his wife Gina, and their children: Kyleigh and Jacob, Kerrington and Brenda, and Don's great niece and nephews: Mila, Michael, and Andrew.
Don was a part of the Carpenter's Union for over forty years as a drywall installer and finisher/lather, working mainly with Broege Construction Company. He later became a construction supervisor. Don contributed to the creation of many buildings and landmarks both locally and throughout the state of California. He was an avid "Dance Dad" to Jessica and supported her passion by building sets, stages, and floats for many dance and school performances.
Don loved spending time and making memories with his wife and daughter. Don and Judy enjoyed trips to the casinos and many pacific coast beaches. Don especially enjoyed their annual 4th of July beach trip, where he had the opportunity to assist with lighting fireworks from the pier for the town's big celebration. Don made many friends over his lifetime, many of whom became like family to him. If Donny spent his free time stopping by unannounced, you were very special to him. Don was a huge baseball enthusiast, cheering on his LA Dodgers throughout the summer and into the playoff season. Don was able to create a Dodger fan out of his wife, Judy, as well. Don's other passion was the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He started hunting at a young age and found joy in passing his knowledge to his brother Dave and his nephews, who will continue his legacy by sharing this knowledge with their children.
Don had a special bond with his daughter Jessica and played an instrumental part in helping her become the woman she is today. The countless precious memories and impactful moments will never be forgotten. Don also had a special place in his heart for his great niece, Mila. Don enjoyed his many visits with Mila, and their Facetime calls always made him smile.

Always great memories.

Judy & John Mann

August 6, 2022

Donny has been an amazing friend to us since we moved across the street from him and Judy, 31 years ago. He was always there with a helping hand for us and our sons no matter what it entailed. Judy and Donny were the best neighbors you could ever ask for. They were there for every family celebration, and comforted us in times of need.
He was a gentle, loving man that affected our lives and all that knew him well. You could count on him.
John recalls many good conversations over the back of his truck and enjoying his company while sharing an occasional drink. He also loved sharing his game with us after a successful hunt.
He was a true friend in every sense of the word.
Our deepest sympathy to his family & friends, with love, The Mann family
