On September 5, 2025, God called His beloved child home to join his parents.
Donald Avon Rice, Jr. was born on January 23, 1968, at Provident Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended and graduated from Milford Mills High School with the class of 1987, where he developed a love for basketball. Donald furthered his education at Allegheny Community College, where he continued to foster his love for basketball by playing on the college's team.
Donald had two beautiful parents, Merab and Donald Avon Rice, Sr., who both loved and cared for him more than words could ever describe. He met his beloved wife, Pamela Antoinette Washington-Rice, in 1999, and they married on December 10, 2004.
Donald remained pure-hearted, even through his final days. Donald was just like his mother when it came to helping and giving to others. He poured into so many lives. He had friends and family who looked up to him and depended on him.
People loved him for his contagious laugh, his humongous heart, and all the good energy he put into the world. Donald was a diligent man and always provided for his family, including working at Kadon-Metal Factory and Good Rappers Plastic Factory as an engineer. He was also a pioneer in his community. He mentored youth and helped people achieve financial stability. Donald's other special talents included fixing cars and renovating houses, which he discovered later in life. He was so smart and creative, and he had so many gifts and talents that made him truly iconic.
Donald leaves behind his devoted wife, Pamela Washington-Rice, whom he loved and adored with all his heart; his brother, Gregory Rice; his loving children: Lonnie Lemon, Jasmine Rice, Jawaun Harris, Phillip Pierce, Breonna Pierce, Martina Rice, Justist Rice, and Justin Rice; his beloved grandchildren (pictured on back page); and his close cousins: Melvin Rice, Benita Rice, and Diane Rice-Johnson.
He also leaves five brothers-in-law: Kenneth Washington, Brian Washington, Dominic Milligan, David Binger, and Corney Lewis; eight sisters-in-law: Shannon Washington, Sharron Washington, Maureen Washington, Marsie Washington, Tiffany Milligan, Monique Binger, and Denise Warren; one special daughter, Nikia Lewis; and two special sons, Nick Scott and Chuckie Fleet.
