Donald O Rickson, 44, passed away suddenly on April 17, 2025.
He was born in Schenectady NY to Charlene Donegan and the late Donald O. Rickson. In high school he was a champion wrestler as well as a talented football and baseball player. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Jets.
Donald has a passion for fishing starting at a young age. All through his life he loved to fish with his family and friends at various spots around the capital region. He also loved golfing and visiting his mother at the beach. He loved volunteering with Special Olympics especially helping the staff and athletes.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved children, Mackenzie, Peyton and Jakob Rickson, granddaughter Azlynn Sanford, sisters Corey Ribeca and Heather DeLaMater (Eric), half siblings Donna Rickson, Paula Berrios, Renee Rickson ,Thorp Rickson and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by lifelong friends Joe Bar and Tyler Simpson, as well as many friends and coworkers.
A visitation will be held on Sunday April 27th from 11am-1pm with a service to follow at 1pm, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.
