Saulsbery, John "Bruce"
ALBANY - John "Bruce" Saulsbery, 72, of Colonie, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, with his beloved wife and children by his side, and other loved ones nearby.
Born in Niskayuna, he was the son of the late Samuel "Jack" and Anna (Mottolese) Saulsbery, and was a graduate of Colonie H.S. and HVCC, with an AOS in Electrical Construction and Maintenance.
Bruce retired from GE Silicones, later Momentive Performance Materials, after a 36-year career as an Industrial Electrician. As a young man, he worked at L-Kens Drive-In, Sears Auto Center, and as an Electrician at Albany Med.
For 26 years, Bruce was a Lead Mentor for the FIRST Robotics team at Colonie H.S., where he found fulfillment in both teaching students his craft, and passing along his strong commitment to "doing things right." However, his greatest joy in life was being a grandpa to his grandchildren, Charlie and Sam.
Bruce is survived by his adoring wife and partner of 52 years, Deborah Bigelow-Saulsbery; son, Jonathan; daughter, Kathryn (Robert) Saulsbery-DeFelice; grandsons, Charles and Samuel DeFelicel; siblings, Jo Anne, of Colonie, Richard (Regina), of Latham, and Stephen (Cathy), of Sayre, Pa.; many loving nieces, nephews, and a host of loyal friends.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 12 to 3 p.m., at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie.
