Beloved Husband, Father, and 'Pop Pop' Donald Scott Robertson, 55, of Venice Florida, unexpectedly passed away on August 4th.
The Donald, was born on December 17th 1968 to Joyce & Donald in Utica, NY. Growing up in the city of Utica, Don was surrounded by family and friends who he would aways cherish for his lifetime. Upon graduating UFA High School Don worked locally, met his former wife Danielle and had two children, Kyle & Kaitlyn. Motivated to provide a better life for his family, he proceeded to enroll in St. Luke's School of Radiology where he graduated at top of his class.
Don would then embark on the start of his professional career finding his calling in the 'Cath Lab' at St. Elizabeth's and it was there, Don would meet the love of his life and spouse Katie and later her children Gab, Jill and Gary. This was also when Don and Katie began their friendship with Pam, Steve, Michael, and Lori creating a bond to last a lifetime. Don eventually made the transition into medical sales where he would achieve success and accolades beyond what he ever thought possible for himself. Luck only played the smallest of roles in his achievements, his dedication, smarts and undeniable work ethic that he passed to those around him led to his success.
In his personal time, Don was quite the handy man putting love, care, and a few swear words into every project. Fishing, boating, and spending time outdoors brought him peace and were how Don connected with his spiritual side. In recent years, Don and Katie were avid golfers and periodic troublemakers. Together, they made sure they and their close friends were always having a good time, even if that meant enduring a constant stream of criticisms about things that could use improvement on the course. After a particularly satisfying swing Don was known to look down the fairway and say, "I think this is the longest drive I've ever had on this hole".
Donnie was predeceased by his mother Joyce, his father Donald, his brother Dennis, his mother-in-law Marty, father-in-law Chris and beloved dog Rusty.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Katie, son Kyle, daughter Kaitlyn (Cam), stepdaughter Gabrielle (Jeremy), stepdaughter Jill (Terrence), stepson Gary (Christina), dog son Baxter, grandchildren Finley, Levon, and Ayla. Donnie will be missed dearly by his loving brothers and sisters. Don touched so many lives and forged lasting friendships with clients, customers and coworkers. He will leave a huge hole in all our hearts.
Services will be held at Farley Funeral Home of North Port on August 9th from 12:00PM – 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to Breakthrough T1D (formally Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) or The Suncoast Humane Society.

Katie,
Karen and I are so sorry to hear about Don. When we moved next door to you in Gran Parasiso you Guys were the best! We were only there for weekly visits 4-5 times a year but in no time it was like we knew Don forever. What a great guy, always there to help me with any project I was doing or for any tool I needed. He had so much energy, always working on something, never stopped! Just a great person, he will be missed! He was a hell of a Guy Katie!
We are so sorry.

I´m so sad to hear about Donnie´s passing. He was my manager at Arby´s. We spent our late teen years hanging out and driving around in his yellow Ford Granada.
