Donald Robicheau Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home on Jan. 6, 2025.
Donald F. Robicheau, 77, of Estero, FL, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL from complications of pancreatic cancer. A former resident of Marshfield, MA, he had lived in Estero since 2000.
Born on November 21, 1947, in Somerville, MA, he was the son of the late Fred and Esther (Payne) Robicheau. Donald served 35 years as a police officer for the town of Marshfield. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school, serving 4 years and achieving the rank of E4. He often spoke of his time in Guantanamo Bay during the Vietnam War. He held a degree in criminal justice that he earned from Northeastern University.
Donald once said that he was the happiest when he was scuba diving. Being one of his greatest passions, he would often share his bounty of lobsters and clams with his friends and neighbors. He also had a passion for golf and music. He loved his music, with Roy Orbison being one of his favorites. Being from the Boston area, Donald was of course an avid sports fan. Very rarely would he miss watching a New England Patriots game or a Red Sox game.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Colette A. (Genes) Hammers; his children, Kenneth (Kristen) Robicheau of Marshfield, MA, Donnie (Ann Marie) Robicheau of Marshfield, MA, and Kristi (Gerry) Rice of St. Robert, MO; his stepchildren, Paul (Toni) Connolly of Estero, FL, Kim Connolly of Pembroke, MA, Karen Jene' (Brooks) Mahan of Marshfield, MA, Rachel (Alex) DuBois (Hammers) of Marshfield, MA, Nicole (Leo) Piantes (Hammers) of Marshfield, MA, Kristen (Jake) Sullivan (Hammers) of Marshfield, MA, and Christopher (Dawn) Hammers of Marshfield, MA; brothers, Bruce (Maria) Robicheau of Estero, FL, Brian Robicheau, Kevin Robicheau; as well as 21 grandchildren.

You come in contact at At aawhen you are young , you think you can do anything and that your life is going to be so wonderful, only life can break your heart in ways you never thought possible. God is truly the only one who understands your journey right or wrong. Just wanted you and your family to know, that this journey is not the end. Love never fails even when it feels like it. Remember who ever you meet, is carrying something that is painful. That person on your path needs someone to just be kind. A smile can change everything or a nice gesture....
