Kip Hammersley

Kip Hammersley, 81, of Estero, Florida, passed away on February 26, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on March 3, 1944, in Coshocton, Ohio, the son of the late Robert Lee and Grace K. (née Addis) Hammersley, Sr. Kip had been a resident of Southwest Florida since 1999, coming from Navarre, Ohio.

He is survived by his children Kendra (Troy) Kemmerling of Pataskala, Ohio; Cindy Pham of Jacksonville, Florida; Kristen (Thomas) Smith of Columbus, Ohio; Mike (Brandi) Hammersley of Ft. Myers, Florida; and Jake (Lily) Hammersley of Cumberland City, Tennessee; and the mother of Mike and Jake, Valerie Terry, of Navarre, Ohio; 13 Grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Kip is also survived by his brother Robert Lee (Judy) Hammersley Jr of Cambridge, Ohio, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends spread all throughout our great country.

After graduating from Cambridge High School, Kip proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he began his career with Ohio Bell as a telephone system repairman. Over the years, as the company evolved through acquisitions, he continued his work with AT&T and later Lucent Technologies, from which he retired in 1999.

Kip enjoyed riding his motorcycle, walking and running, and was an avid reader. He especially cherished attending his grandchildren's sporting events and spending time with his family. He also took great pleasure in landscaping and enjoying the wildlife around his home.

Funeral services for Kip will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio, on Friday, March 20th at 2:15 p.m.
