Donald Ronemus Obituary

Donald J. Ronemus

Donald J. Ronemus, 71, passed away on Jan. 27, 2026, in the Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township.

He was born on March 10, 1954, in Palmerton.

Donald (Don) graduated from Marian High School in 1972 and then continued his education at Lincoln Technical School.

During his career as a process control technician with the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation, and later as an engineer with a major steel company in Cleveland, Ohio, his knowledge, skill and work ethic were greatly valued.

He was a unique individual, who always embraced a casual dress code, and did not shy away from any topic. Don could always be relied on to speak the naked truth. He had a diverse array of interests. Computers were an integral part of his work and personal life, and he was the photographer and videographer on many occasions with his family and friends.

Don loved cars, motorcycles and dogs of all kinds. He enjoyed discussing sports with his brother Dave and SciFi shows and books with his sister Mary Lou. Don also loved to listen to music, and his favorite musician was Peter Gabriel.

Don is survived by his loving family, including a brother, David C. Ronemus, and wife, Pamela, of Nazareth; sisters, Mary L. Young of Allentown and Anne Hunsicker, and husband, Richard, of Nesquehoning. In addition, he is survived by his seven nieces and nephews and their children, and also by his close friend, Cleo Baran of Tamaqua.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood M. Ronemus and Mary (Tretiak) Ronemus, and an infant brother, John.

Don's legacy of kindness, honesty and love of life will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Services: Services for Don will be announced at a future date. Online condolences and remembrances of Don may be expressed at www.nalesnikfh.com. Any contributions in his memory can be made to an animal shelter of your choice. Services and arrangements have been placed in the care of the Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home, 57 W.
