Donald R. Satkowski, age 81, resident of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at ProMedica Bay Park Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on August 4, 1944, in Oregon, Ohio, to the late Raymond “Curly” and Genevieve “Barney” (Irmen) Satkowski. On June 28th, 1963 he married Karan Haar she preceded him in death on October 20, 1989.
A graduate of Clay High School, Donald’s lifelong career that reflected his strong work ethic, engaging in both farming and plumbing. He was a devoted member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. His commitment to serving those around him extended to his memberships in the Sons of the Legion and VFW Post 9816, where he connected with fellow veterans and community members. Additionally, he was a proud member of Local 500 Labors. Donald enjoyed spending time with his family, playing lottery, poker and euchre with his friends. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, following the National Tractor Pull Circuit and cheering for the University of Toledo Basketball Team.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving children, Donnie (Sandy) Satkowski, Dave (Amy) Satkowski, Denny (Chrissy) Satkowski, and Katie Satkowski; significant other, Patti Warren; grandchildren, Nick, Cassie, Kayla, Kaylei, Courtney, Kara, and Kurt; great grandchildren, Mason, Laylynn, and Eylul; sister-in-law, Bonnie Weidner; brother-in-law, Terry Jenkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by, long-time companion, Kathy Scaggs; and sister, Patricia Jenkins.
Donalds spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life. This isn’t goodbye, but we will see you again!
Family and friends may visit at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Road, Oregon, Ohio 43616, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Rd., Oregon, Ohio 43616, from 9:00 am until the time of Mass, which will begin at 10:00 am. Following services, Donald will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Make-A-Wish, or the Parkinson Foundation of Northwest Ohio.
