Barbara Rose Stennett, 66, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in the comfort of her home surrounded by family, due to a long battle with cancer. Born on September 18, 1959, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the only daughter born to the late Stanley and Margaret (Miracola) Zglinski. Barb also lived in Marathon and Lake Placid, Florida for many years.
Barb graduated from Woodward High School in 1977. She was a member of Saints Adalbert and Hedwig Parish, and also attended Holy Rosary Church. Barb had worked at the BMV and also at VFW Post 4906 for many years, where she was a long-time member. She was deeply involved with the VFW Post 4906, where she dedicated countless hours supporting the veterans and their families. She was always willing to lend a hand at social events and fundraisers, helping organize and do whatever was needed. Barb found joy in bringing the mission of the VFW Post 4906. Her presence, warm smile, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by her VFW Post 4906 family and all who had the privilege of serving alongside her.
Barb had a true love for life’s simple joys. She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Michigan Wolverines, rarely missing a chance to cheer them on. She valued the friendships she built over the years and cherished the memories that were created throughout the countless celebrations, as well as enjoyed the excitement of an occasional evening out and the simple thrill of trying her luck; those moments brought her immense joy.
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her beloved three boys, Jonathon and Jasmine Jude, Donnie and Jessica Jude, and Nick and Jordin Jude. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Raymon Aloysius Sobecki, Stanley John Zglinski III, and Anthony and Pamela Zglinski, along with many nieces and nephews.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Margaret Zglinski; and her beloved dog, Sammie.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the VFW 4906.
Honoring Barb’s final wishes, the family will not be holding a traditional funeral service, but rather, a celebration of life that will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at VFW Post 4906, 2161 Consaul St, Toledo, Ohio 43605, starting at 4:00 pm.
