Donald J. Scandinaro

Of Monroeville, age 68, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022.
Born the son of Marie (Diana) Scandinaro and the late Salvatore "Sam" Scandinaro.
Loving father of Dominic (Jaclyn) Scandinaro of Chicago.
Adored brother of Mary Ann (Bob) Rittmeyer and Karen Zezza.
Uncle of David Baacke, Joseph (Jennifer) Zezza, and Erica (Aaron) Gilligan.
Don was a 1971 graduate of St. Anselm's High School in Swissvale. After graduating, Don enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his return home, Don attended Duquesne University and worked as a steelworker at U.S. Steel Edgar Thompson Works. Don had an entrepreneurial spirit that was exhibited through the many businesses he owned and operated including the Isaly's in North Versailles and Scandinaro Photography. He had a passion for salsa dancing. Don competed in various local competitions and also served as an instructor for those taking up dancing. He treasured the time spent dancing with his friends in the salsa community at venues throughout the city of Pittsburgh. Don also enjoyed visiting casinos and playing poker. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends that he leaves behind.
There will not be a visitation. Don will be laid to rest privately with Military Honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
