Donald H. Schrader, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Geraldine Schrader; cherished son of the late Herbert and Eleanor Schrader. Devoted father of Donna (Denny) Anderhalter and Mary (Dave) Moon; loving grandfather of Stacey (Jason) Beerman, Marissa (Jason) Wussler, Liz (Tim Alvarez) Zimmerman, Jon (Amy) Anderhalter, and Matt (Shila) Moon; treasured great-grandfather of Kyle Wussler, Abby Wussler, Lexie Wussler, Connor Beerman, Cole Beerman, Abby Anderson, Anna Roth, Patrick Comer, Abe Anderhalter, and Barrett Anderhalter; dear brother of Joyce (the late Lawrence) Jacobs, and the late Ernie (the late Mildred) Schrader. Beloved brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many.
Donald proudly served in the United States Army as a Corporal during the Korean War, where he worked in grave registration. A skilled barber until 1969, he also had a long career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, serving as Lock Master at Alton Lock and Dam 26. A talented master craftsman, Donald built homes, doll houses, furniture, and more with exceptional skill. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time at Mary and Dave’s home at the Lake of the Ozarks. Donald was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
