Donald R. Schultz, age 94, a resident of Washington, Michigan since 1990, and formerly of Fraser, Michigan, passed away Thursday May 23, 2024 at Vista Springs Assisted Living in Washington Township. Donald was born December 28, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Walter and Josephine Schultz. Donald married Louise E. Herzog on September 17, 1949 and enjoyed 57 years of marriage until her passing in January of 2008. Donald was a loyal employee, and worked for Dunn Bindery as a bookbinder for 49 years. Donald enjoyed a good cigar, a bottle of wine, and Hershey's candy bars. He also loved music, and played the piano.
Donald is survived by his children David Schultz of Washington Township, Linda Schultz of Washington, Sharon (Kevin McCracken) Sauriol of Washington, Cathy (Keith) Knaffle, of Garden City, and Michael Schultz of Armada, grandchildren Melissa (Brian) Bradley, Jason (Amanda) Sauriol, Crystal (Perry) Epley, Jessica (Jake) Mason, Terri (Donnie) Stander, Steven (Kim) Schultz, Matthew (Renee) Schultz, great-grandchildren, Madison Schultz, Eli Schultz, Grayson Schultz, Harper Epley, Lindsay Mason, Riley Mason, Zachary Mason, Briella Stander, Remington Sauriol and Tessa Stander. Donald is preceded in death by his wife, Louise E. Schultz, daughter in law Denise, and son Thomas.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a 7:00 PM rosary at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. Mass will be held at St. John and Paul Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM, instate at 10:30 AM.
