Donald Ray "Duck" Simpson
Westminster, South Carolina
Donald Ray Simpson, 68, of Westminster, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, October 10th, 2025, at Greenville Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 8th, 1957, in Monroe, North Carolina, Donald was the son of Inez Morris Wilson and the late Threat Richard Simpson. He grew up with a strong work ethic and a gentle heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Donald spent many years as a dedicated weaver with J.P. Stevens in Seneca, where he was respected for his dependability and his easygoing nature.
Donald was a man who loved the simple things in life - time with his family, a good conversation, and a day spent outdoors. He took great pride in his children and adored his only grandchild, Bleu, who brought him immense joy and laughter. His family was the center of his world, and he was happiest when surrounded by those he loved.
He was a member of Tri-City Baptist Church, where his quiet faith and kind spirit were evident to all who knew him. Donald will be remembered for his easy smile, his sense of humor, and the way he could make anyone feel at home in his presence.
He is survived by his loving mother, Inez Morris Wilson; his son, Jason Simpson (Amanda) of Townville, SC; daughter, Amy Jordan (Jason) of Townville, SC; sisters, Denise Prichard and Rhonda Dickson, both of Westminster, SC; and his beloved grandchild, Bleu Simpson.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ricky and Steve Simpson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13th, 2025, in the Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at First Baptist Memorial Park.
Flowers are accepted, and the family will be at the residence.
