Donald William Sisson of Flora Vista, New Mexico passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, June 10th, 2024. Don was born January 29th, 1944, in Detroit Michigan to William (Bill) & Elizabeth (Betty) (Dickinson) Sisson. Both parents proceeded Don in death as well as his Sister Diana Batten. Don is survived by his Wife Nancy (Guthmann) Sisson. Dons surviving relatives consist of Sons Garrett (Wife Elisha) & Matt (Wife Lisa) Sisson, Grandsons Cori, Brodi (Wife Juila), Teegn (Wife Mia), Logan, Dillon Warren (Girlfriend Sarah Bouren) and Great Granddaughter Elowyn Sisson and Baby Warren coming in October of 2024. Don loved the outdoors and especially riding his ATV in the San Juan Mountains and rugged landscapes of Southeastern Utah. It was Dons extreme passion for adventure that inspired his sons to pursue similar interests including boating, off-roading, hiking and camping. Don was one of the founding members of the Cliff Hanger Four Wheel Drive Club in Farmington, New Mexico. Don was also a Veteran and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Dons occupation throughout the majority of his career was as a service salesman in the power generating industry throughout the Southwestern United States. Babcock Power, Inc. was actually the company who moved him from his childhood home of Lancaster, Ohio to Farmington, New Mexico in 1970.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Beehive Homes for the exceptional care provided to Don as well as San Juan Regional Medical Center. A private commemoration service will be held in La Plata Canyon by immediate family in the upcoming weeks. No flowers or gifts are needed but thoughts and prayers are graciously appreciated.
