Donald H. Marshall, born on September 20, 1932, in Manchester, NH, passed away on January 10, 2026, in Brockton, MA. He was a remarkable individual whose contributions to his family, community, and country will be remembered fondly.
Donald shared an enduring love with his late wife Doris, having cherished nearly 69 years of marriage before her passing. Their deep commitment to each other was a testament to the bonds of love and partnership that defined their lives together.
A proud veteran, Donald served honorably in the Navy during the Korean War, embodying the spirit of service and dedication. After his military service, he became a well-respected member of his community, establishing the longest-standing foster family in the state of Massachusetts, providing love and support to countless children throughout the years. His selflessness and nurturing nature left a lasting impact on those whose lives he touched.
Donald was not only a devoted husband and father but also an avid gardener and hunter. These pursuits brought him joy and satisfaction, allowing him to connect with nature and the simple pleasures of life. His green thumb and appreciation for the outdoors were significant aspects of his character, reflecting his love for the world around him.
He is survived by his beloved children: Alrene Powers, Robert and his wife Sharon, Mark O'Connor, Doris Mae and her husband Scott Richardson, Kim Marshall, Jennifer Marshall, Eric Turner, Rasheem Marshall, Richard Marshall, and Jasmine Marshall. Donald also leaves behind a remarkable legacy of family, including 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his spirit and values.
Donald is predeceased by his beloved wife Doris Marshall and his children, Donald and Elizabeth Marshall. His memory will continue to live on through the many lives he touched with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 1/18/2026 from 12-3 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Monday 1/19/2026 at 11 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. See www.Keohane.com for directions and online condolences.
