It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Robert Skrzyniarz, who left us on June 15, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on June 10, 1947, in Hamtramck, Michigan, Donald was a cherished father, a dedicated veteran, and a loving friend.
He was the son of Joseph J. Skrzyniarz and Freda Mary Skrzyniarz (Pyczynaki) and was formerly married to Jane Ruth Skrzyniarz (Bickerstaffe). Donald proudly served his country in both the United States Air Force and the Navy, and he often spoke about how much that experience meant to him. Donald was an active member of the community, passionately involved in the Optimist Club, even serving as president at one point. He also loved spending time at Edgewood Country Club, where he could be found on the golf course whenever possible. A big fan of University of Michigan athletics, you could often find him cheering for his team. He enjoyed everything in life from movies to travel. Most importantly, he loved his family dearly, often attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
He is survived by his children, , Valerie (Scott) Freestone, Deanne Skrzyniarz and Bradley (Caitlin) Skrzyniarz, along with his beloved grandchildren, Jacob Freestone, Hayden Freestone, Caleb Skrzyniarz, Layton Skrzyniarz, and Deacon Skrzyniarz.
