Donald Smith, son of Eva (Price) Smith and Sylvan Smith, was born September 18, 1934, in Letterbox, Kentucky. He attended Letterbox School.
Donald was a member of Eichelburger Pentecostal Church of God where he served as a deacon and superintendent and played his guitar in service to the Lord.
Donald was married to Agnes Turner Smith (already gone to be with the Lord) and they had two daughters: Brenda Kay Harrison (Katie), deceased, and Donna Lynn Roberts of Brodhead, Kentucky. He is survived by many loved ones: sisters Ruby Carpenter and Irene Venable of Jackson County, Patty Smith of Ohio, and Randall Hundle, also of Jackson County, and many nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.
Three grandchildren: Shashawna Dotson (Phillp) of Lexington, Brooke Bishop (Chris), and Blake Roberts (Kristen) of Mount Vernon. Five great-grandchildren: Tirzah, Tatum, Boaz, Lucian and Thayer.
Donald was a businessman owing Smith's Nursery and Landscaping Business in Ohio for over 25 years before returning to Kentucky to purchase and operate Rockcastle Steak House in Renfro Valley, Kentucky.
More importantly, Donald was a born-again Christian who had a special relationship with Jesus Christ and set that example for his children and family to follow.
Donald went to be with our Lord and Savior, Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Compassion Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky. He was surrounded by his loved ones.
Donald Smith will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held at the Smith Cemetery on Peter Cave Road on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11 A.M. with Bro. Shane Gabbard officiating. Pallbearers include Blake Roberts, Chris Bishop, Boaz Bishop, Phillip Dotson and Ed Venable. Honorary Pallbearers Lucian Roberts and Thayer Roberts.
