Donald Tackett Obituary

Donald Gale Tackett II
Donald Gale Tackett II (Bubba) passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of October 13, 2025, after a long illness, surrounded by his loving wife, Nanci and his beloved sister, Shannon.
Don was born on 29 November, 1972 at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Anchorage, Alaska to Donald and Loretta (Angler) Tackett. As an Army brat, Don had the experience of growing up all over the world. Don graduated high school at Normal High School, Normal, Illinois in 1991.
On October 12, 2002 Don married Nanci Mattox in Atlanta, Georgia at the home of Nanci's grandparents, Ed and Betty Juniewicz. It was a beautiful backyard ceremony surrounded by many loved ones and friends.
Don was a master of many trades. He enjoyed working and learning new things his entire life. He was smart and dedicated beyond his years. Don consistently taught when needed to teach, listened when someone needed to talk, and completed his task with the proficiency you would expect from any professional. His ability to communicate the work that needed to be accomplished was his greatest asset. He was patient and caring, doing anything for anybody.
Don is survived by his wife and best friend, Nanci (Mattox) Tackett, his son, his pride and joy, Aidon Christopher Tackett, his parents, Don and Sue Tackett; his sister, Shannon Bange and brother in law, Joe Bange, as well as a host of, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other extended family members who loved him dearly.
Don is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lenore (Joy) Ferry, and Emurald Eugene Tackett, Charles and Etta Angler, as well as mother in law, Cathy Hiler, and grandparents in law, Ed and Betty Juniewicz.
Don's absence leaves behind an ache that cannot be put into words, but remembering his sense of humor, smile and quiet ability to make you feel better helps to make up for it.
A celebration of life will be held at Bubba and Nanci's house at 38 Kerns Ridge Ct,
Dawsonville, Georgia from 1PM to 4PM on 25 October, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Hospice organization in Don's name.
