Donald H. Tietz, age 104, of Cottage Grove, MN, World War II Veteran, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, while surrounded by his children.

Preceded in death by wife, Delores; daughter-in-law, Linda; parents, Harry and Lottie; and twelve siblings.

Survived by children, Donald E., Deborah K. (Wayne) Hartung, and Doreen E. (David Jr.) Juckel; grandchildren, Gregory (Catherine Knutson), Lynette (Brian) Todd, Jeremy (Michelle), Crystal (Jeremy) Harden, and Wes (Elisa) Hartung; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings, Jocelyn Cichosz, Delores Henthorne, and Patricia Manning; and other loving family and friends.

Our family is very grateful for the amount of time we got to spend with our Dad. We needed him as much as he needed us. He will always be in our hearts forever. We will miss you Dad. May you rest in peace with Mom & Linda in heaven. Love Butch, Debbie (Wayne), and Renie (Dave).

Special thanks to Mireille from Comfort Keepers for her loving care and compassion, as well as those at Allina Hospice. Also, thanks to our special nurse, Gail at Benedictine for guiding us through the final hours.

Graveside Service 12:30 PM, Friday, May 16, 2025 at Woodlawn Cemetery, 506 W. Lake Blvd., Winona, MN 55987 with lunch to follow. Memorials preferred.
