Mr. James Donald Vaughn, age 76, of Hartwell, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2023 at Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.
He was born in Royston, GA to the late Mr. Lindsay Vaughn and Mrs. Elizabeth Holcomb Vaughn. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Director. He worked for Georgia Power company where he retired after 37 years of dedicated service. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. He was a past member of Hartwell Bass Club and a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690, and the Fishers of Men organization.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Jane Macijewski Vaughn of Hartwell, GA; his children Richard Vaughn of Hiawassee GA and Karen (Mike) Cress of Hartwell GA; Granddaughter Allison Cress of Nashville, TN; and his sister Donna (Paul) Seay of Athens GA.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Mr. Donald Vaughn will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Dr. Dan Vincent and Rev. Carter Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Karen and Mike Cress at 490 Sunnybrook Lane, Hartwell, GA.
