Donald Voss Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Prattville Memorial Chapel & Memory Gardens on Dec. 16, 2025.
Mr. Donald Edd "Donnie" Voss, age 76, passed away on December 14, 2025, in Elmore, Alabama. Born on June 10, 1949, in Porter, Oklahoma, Donnie lived a life marked by resilience, dedication, and love for his family.

Donnie proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. His time in the military reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment-qualities that would continue to define him throughout his life.

A man of many talents and tireless work ethic, Donnie spent most of his life self-employed across a variety of trades. From iron working and fabrication to operating an ice cream truck business in Prattville, he did whatever was necessary to provide for his family. His hands were rarely still; he built a life through hard work and determination.

Donnie was known for marching to the beat of his own drum. He had strong opinions and a stubborn streak that those who knew him came to admire and respect. Yet beneath that tough exterior was a man with a fun sense of humor and a deep love for learning and music. Whether it was exploring new ideas or enjoying a favorite tune, Donnie found joy in the simple pleasures of life.

His faith was central to who he was. As a deacon at Greenwood Baptist Church, Donnie not only served his congregation but also helped run a food bank-living out his belief in service to others.

Donnie's greatest pride was his family. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Gregory (Crystal), Armanda, Sean, Jerrod (Chrissy), Whitney (Jason), and Zeth; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers Richard, Daniel, and Bill Voss; and sisters Carol Cole and Debbie Willhite.

He now joins in rest his beloved wife Kimmie; son Dustin; parents Charley and Georgia Bernice; and sisters Ellen Voss and Betty Coyner.

Mr. Donald Edd "Donnie" Voss will be remembered as a hardworking man who lived with conviction, loved deeply, laughed often, and never stopped learning. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as an enduring testament to a life well lived.
