Ruth E. Voss

Ruth E. Voss, age 90, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on February 6, 2026.

Ruth was born on July 14, 1935, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to the late Albert and Bertha Thomas. She later made her home in Florida, where she built a life rooted in hard work, service, and faith.

Ruth worked for Disney as a housekeeper and, alongside her husband Henry, owned and operated several businesses, including an auto shop, a laundromat, and an auction house. Of all their accomplishments, they were most proud of their time serving as directors of a boys' group home, where they dedicated themselves to caring for and guiding young lives.

Ruth was known for being loving, caring, selfless, and hardworking. She was a shoulder to cry on, an ear willing to listen, and a steady source of comfort to many. She loved the Lord with all her heart, and her heart was especially for her grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Voss.

Ruth is survived by her son, Jimmie Stafford (Valarie); her grandchildren, Nicole Stafford, Blake Stafford, and Kyle Stafford (Jenna); and her niece, Sheilan Runnels (Larry), along with many other extended family members and friends.

Ruth leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service, including one great-grandbaby on the way, Josie, as well as many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
