Springfield – Donald Ray Walker, 48, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024 after a long illness at St. Joseph's Hospital.
The Dallas, TX native worked for Pike Electric as a lineman until he got sick and had to retire due to his illness in 2018. Prior to Donnie getting ill, he was a very outgoing young man who loved his children dearly and loved going bass fishing. Donnie never met a stranger and would help people who were less fortunate than him. We will truly miss his smile and laughter that he would bring us.
He is survived by his children Bryson Ray Walker, Kylie Marie Walker, and David Cannon; his mother, Betty Ryan; brother, William Walker; sister, Melissa Spell; partner, Krissy Wiles and her son Jeffrey; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 pm Monday, July 15, 2024 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 10 am Tuesday, July 16, 2024 in the funeral home chapel.
Interment: Springfield Cemetery Annex
Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel (912) 754-6421

I can´t think of just one time or even a handful of times where Donnie made me smile or laugh. There are so many times that he brought a smile to my face
