Donald L. Ward

Donald L. Ward, Age 75, of the Town of Southport, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 13, 2023, with his loving family at his side. Don was born February 3, 1948, in Elmira, son of the late Newell L. & Florence E. (Youmans) Ward. He attended Southside High School. He was retired from Zack's Auto Sales and Tom Holleran's Auto Sales where he worked for many years. In his spare time Don enjoyed NASCAR and loved the game of golf.
Surviving are his wife Patricia Elston-Ward of Southport, three sons, Daniel & Kimberly Ward of Pine City, Mark & Allison Ward of Chemung, Matthew Ward of Pine City, step children Joe & Angie Donovan of Lowman, Jen Donovan & Eric Steinwinter of Southport, grandchildren, Ashton (Tony), Emily (Travis), Adam, Zachery, Christina (Dan), Erin, Liam, Cameron, Nikoli, Abbigail, Chase, great-grandchildren, Amelia, Tatum, Amaya, Vincent, Aria and Nora, sisters, Barbara & Richard DeGolyer, of Horseheads, Joyce & Donald Hayduk of Horseheads, a brother Newell "Skip" & Pat Ward of Elmira Heights, sister-in-law, Beverly Ward of Waverly, mother of his children, Patricia Duff-Ward of Wellsburg, brothers-in-law, Kenneth Elston, Jr. of Erin, Duane Elston of Elmira, Gerald Elston of Horseheads, sister-in-law, Cheryl Apgar of Lowman, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Don was predeceased by his parents, infant son, Donald A. Ward, brother, Larry Ward and infant grandson, Dylan Donovan.
Family and friends are invited to call Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc., 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY 14894. Don's funeral will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 1:00 PM with his friend Rich McLaughlin officiating.
