Donald Watson Obituary
Born in Columbia, SC, son of James Plina "Pat" and Frances Wagner Watson. He is survived by his wife, Era J. Rollins/Watson and by his children from a previous marriage: son, Pat Watson (Sheridan); son, Mike Watson (Kelley) and daughter, Donna Watson. He also had 5 grandchildren; Spencer, Andrew, Cole, Haley and Ryan.
Don graduated from Edmunds High School in 1954, then attended USC. He worked in sales the majority of his life, retiring from Unijax Corp.
Don was an avid golfer and member of Columbia Country Club, where he was affectionately known as GOAT by those who loved him. He was also a die-hard Gamecock fan! Don attended most home football games until his health began to decline.
Visitation will be Friday January 5th at 11 A.M. at Thompson Funeral Home on Leesburg Road, followed by a 12 P.M. Memorial Service in the Chapel. Graveside will be at 2 P.M. at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
