Carterville- Donald "Don" John Weaver, 89, of Carterville, passed away on June 09, 2025 at 09:45 PM at Herrin Hospital.
Don was born on May 16, 1936 in Michigan City, IN to George and Lillian Janine (Flagel) Weaver. He married Maribeth Ogg on January 21, 1961. She survives of Carterville.
Donald was a Drill Sergeant in the United States Army while stationed at Ft. Riley in Kansas.
Once honorably discharged he began a long career in sales; most recently retiring from Sam's Club. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan. He coached baseball for youth groups at Ft. Riley Army Base in Kansas while enlisted in the Army and also his son later on. Don enjoyed old cars and fishing whenever possible. He was a talented photographer and had many great photos from around the local area.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son- Bradley Weaver.
Don is survived by his wife- Maribeth Weaver of Carterville; daughter- Laurie Weaver of Carbondale and sister- Mary Robinson of Lafayette, IN.
He will be cremated and memorials may be made to Stand Up To Cancer and may be mailed to the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.mccluskiemillerfh.com.Funeral arrangements were trusted to McCluskie-Miller Funeral Services, 501 S. 12th Street Herrin, IL 62948, (618) 942-2020.
