Donald T. Weisend, 89, of Bonita Springs, FL passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Solaris Senior Living North Naples. He had been a resident of Bonita Springs for the past 32 years, coming from Willowick, OH. Don, a son of the late Earl and Grace (Taylor) Weisend, was born February 6, 1933 in East Cleveland, OH.Don retired from East Ohio Gas Company where he worked for 31 years. He was a faithful member of Estero United Methodist Church. He volunteered at the hospital in Naples and was a VOICE volunteer for the Sheriff's Department. He was a very devoted Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Friend.Don is survived by his loving children, Thomas C. (Cheryl) Weisend of Fort Myers, FL, Laurie J. Thompson of Willoughby, OH, Martha L. Mansfield of Willowick, OH, Terri L. Scott of Willowick, OH, and Jim Thompson of Kirtland OH; grandchildren, Annie Janoco (Jeff), April Bolinger (Eric), Zach Weisend, Brad Weisend (Kaitlyn), Jason Thompson (Stephanie), Samantha Bencar (Brent), Christopher Thompson (Callie), Jack Mansfield (Loryn), Jamie Mansfield, Thomas J Weisend (Kiira), Will Weisend (Mona), and Elizabeth Weisend; and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly, who passed away January 2021; son, Donald J. Weisend; daugher-in-law, Debbie Weisend; granddaughter, Lindsay Scott; and sister, Carole Richmond.A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
