Obituary of Donald Werking
Dr. Donald Wayne Werking was born in Glenwood Springs, Colorado August 4, 1936 to Gerald and Opal Werking. He passed away October 11, 2023 with his wife and family surrounding him.
Don practiced orthodontics for 40 years in the Lakewood and Littleton area. He loved his work and his patients. He was very proud of the impact that he could provide to his patients. Don also did a significant amount of pro bono work, believing that a person's income should not impact their ability to have access to orthodontic work.
Don was married to Nedra Werking (nee Greear), his high school sweetheart, for over 65 years. They raised their family primarily in Littleton. They traveled around together and worked together in their family orthodontics practice.
Don loved Colorado. He was a third generation native and was proud of his deep Colorado roots. Wherever he travelled in the world, he always said that Colorado was the best. He loved the Colorado outdoors all year round. He spent his life camping, fishing, hunting, and skiing with his father and then with his sons.
Don is survived by his wife, Nedra; his sons Jim (Carolyn) and Rob (Lisa); his grandchildren Daniel, Jessica, Lexi, Joe, Sam and Jakob.
