Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chandler Funeral Homes & Crematory - Hockessin on Jan. 6, 2026.
Donald Grant Windsor, age 98, of Hockessin, DE., passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025.

Don was born in 1927, in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Grant and Beatrice Windsor. He graduated from Dickinson College, in Carlisle, PA, in 1949 and joined the DuPont Company. He had assignments in several departments and locations. In 1989 he retired as manager of Corporate Safety and Occupational Health. During his career Don served as a leader on many national and international safety organizations, delivered major addresses worldwide and authored numerous safety articles. He held the National Safety Council's highest award, the Distinguished Service to Safety Award. After retiring, he consulted on safety and fire protection for about ten years.

Donald was a past steward of the Delaware Highland Games and wore the Grant tartan. He enjoyed international travel, crabbing on the Indian River, refinishing and caning chairs and helping his wife build miniature doll houses. Some of Don's volunteer activities included U.S. Coast Guard, Explorer Scouting and local fire responder services. Since moving into the Cokesbury community in 1997, he was involved in various safety and resident councils, marketing programs, and white elephant sales. He was an elder in the Presbyterian Church and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Wilmington.

He was predeceased by his wife of 73 years, Dolores Campbell Windsor. He is survived by his three daughters, Donna Collins (Clark), Debbie Desmond (Paul) and Dru Wisniewski (Frank), 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and his brother Gary Windsor of Colorado.

A Service to Celebrate Don's Life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Cokesbury Village, 726 Loveville Road, Hockessin, DE 19707. Interment will be private.
