Donald Witherell Obituary
Donald served in the United States Army. He owned and operated his own heating, air conditioning and electrical company for 40 years.
Donald is survived by his son, Donald (wife Becky) Witherell; his daughter, Kimberly White; four grandchildren, Zach (wife Jennifer) Witherell, Aaron (girlfriend Taylor) Witherell, Spencer Shawgo and Mason Shawgo; four great grandchildren, Stormy, Summer, Aspen and Porter; and three siblings, Melvin (wife Sarah) Witherell, Mary (husband Larry) Dick and Emma Smith.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; his parents; siblings, Wayne Eugene Witherell, Clifford Witherell, Margie Otto, Ethell Hill, Bertha Hughes, Rose Shults, Mabel Hardinger.
A memorial gathering will be held for both Alice and Donald on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. The memorial service will follow with Pastor Mike Smoron officiating. Burial will follow the service at 1:00 pm at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Free Church, 209 W. Douglas Ave, Petersburg, Illinois 62675.
