Norma Jean Power, 85, of Petersburg, Illinois, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at her home. She was born August 5, 1940, in Petersburg to Kenneth and Emma (nèe Evers) Gerdes.

Norma enjoyed going camping, fishing and spending time outdoors. She also enjoyed crocheting blankets, cooking, baking and visiting with friends and family.

Norma is survived by her husband, Ronald "Ron" Power; her children, Gerry (Clarence) Ballinger, Cheryl (Sid) Buch, Brenda (Hoss) Himmelrick and Marilyn (John) Lowe; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and her siblings, Kenny Wayne (Sharon) Gerdes, George (Cathy) Gerdes and Robert (Debbie) Gerdes.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joan Harbert; and Joan's husband, Ralph Harbert.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. The service will immediately follow at 11:00 am with Dan Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Petersburg. There will be a luncheon at the Menard County Farm Bureau, 101 E. Jefferson St, Petersburg, Illinois 62675, following burial.

Per Norma's families request, please wear casual attire to the services.

Memorial contributions may be made to any charity of the donor's choice.
