Robert "Bob" Floyd Bell, 83, of Petersburg, Illinois, passed away on February 14, 2026. He was born on August 17, 1942, to James F. Bell Sr. and Anna Mae (nèe Davidson) Bell at his home in Petersburg.

Bob served in the United States Army where he was able to achieve his GED while enlisted. He married Edith "Edie" Kinney at St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Petersburg on November 14, 1967. He worked for Ideal Industries and later for the Illinois Department of Transportation for 20 years before retiring. He enjoyed drag racing cars, restoring classic cars and going to classic car events. Other than his love of cars, his greatest past time was spent with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his children, Bobbie (Eric) Deason of Petersburg, Jeffery (Jennifer) Bell of Petersburg, and Jeremy (Kayla) Bell of Warrior, Alabama; his grandchildren, Nathan (Janell) Mitchell, Jessica (Edward) Pheasant, Erin (Nick) Russell, Kacey, Hayden, Bretlyn, Gabrielle (Luke), Audiana (Noah), Kincaid, Kaybree, Kaislee, Novalee and Tatum; great grandchildren, Greyson, Delaney, Audrey, Lee, Adalie, Asher, Abrahm, Gideon, Winter and Wesley; and three brothers, Mike, Nick (Susie) and David.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Edith; his parents; three siblings, JoAnn McDougall, James Bell Jr. and Vicki Bell.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No services will be scheduled per Bob's choice.
