Dong Sheng Zhang (1939 - 2024)
Dong Sheng Zhang, 84, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 28, 1939, in Nanping, Fujian, China, he was the cherished son of Zhangxing Zhang and Guimen Young.
In 1961, Dong Sheng graduated from the Agricultural Mechanization University in Fujian, China, earning a bachelor's degree in engineering. In 1964, he married Gui Juan Wang in Nanping, beginning a beautiful journey together that spanned 60 years. They built a life filled with love, raising two children, and delighting in the joy of three grandchildren.
Dong Sheng was a skilled and dedicated engineer at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences in China, where he also shared his knowledge as a college professor.
Later in life, he made the courageous decision to move to the United States to support his daughter and her family. At their family restaurant, he became a beloved presence, helping in any way he could. The employees fondly called him "Papa," a testament to the warmth, wisdom, and kindness he shared with everyone.
His warm smile and gentle nature touched all who knew him. Dong Sheng's generous spirit knew no bounds-he was always there to lend a hand to all employees, friends, and family alike, no matter the task. He will be remembered as a man who offered his heart through his actions, bringing comfort and joy to those fortunate enough to know him.
Dong Sheng's memory will be forever cherished by his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and all employees who carry forward the love and values he instilled in them.
Though he may no longer be with us, Dong Sheng's legacy of kindness, warmth, and unwavering support lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him as "Papa."
