Donn Thomas Davies

Donn T. Davies passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, after a tough battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of humor, talent, and unwavering spirit. He was born on September 26, 1948, in Sheridan, Wyoming, and later made his home in Taos, New Mexico-a place that deeply influenced his creativity and love of craftsmanship. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henrietta and Donn Davies, his sister, Anne Donston, and brother-in-law Dave Scott.

Donn is survived by his former wife, Sandra Davies, and his children: Autumn Dawn Davies, Donn "Bud" Davies, and Adelle Davies. He was a proud grandfather to Brandi Davies, Chardonnay Gutierrez, Greg Quintana, Robert Donn Davies, Erika Quintana, Don Angelo Quintana, Johnny Messick, Jordan Jones, Athena Davies, and Scarlett Davies. He also cherished his great-grandchildren, Levi Gutierrez and Emma Gutierrez. Donn leaves behind his siblings Maria Scott, Charlie Davies, and Susie Tate, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many special lifelong friends.

Donn lived a life marked by curiosity and intelligence. A gifted athlete in his younger years, he excelled in track, football, bronc riding, and later in life, golf, fishing and hunting. His creativity flourished in Taos, where he developed a passion for equipment operating, welding and woodworking, crafting beautiful pieces often adorned with inlaid turquoise-art that reflected both his skill and his love for the Southwest.

A wonderful cook with an unforgettable sense of humor, Donn brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. His sharp mind was legendary; he could calculate an entire grocery bill to the penny before the cashier even totaled it. His energy and brilliance were constants-qualities that shaped every chapter of his life and touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Donn will be remembered for his warmth, his wit, his craftsmanship, and the deep love he held for his family and friends. His presence filled every room, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be replaced. He will be missed more than words can express.
