Donna Kay (Reynolds) Basey, 85, of New Castle, went to be with her Savior on Saturday, March 14, 2026. She was born on June 24, 1940, to the late Tyrus V. and Thelma L. (Callahan) Reynolds.
She was a 1958 graduate of Cadiz High School. Where she excelled in all her studies.
Donna was a lifelong resident of Henry County. She spent her formative years working on the family farm with her father and sister. Donna was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
She spent her life helping others, she was always just a phone call away. Donna loved working outside tending to her flower beds. She worked as a Nurses Aid and a Home Health Care Aid while she raised her children.
Donna is survived by her children, Gerald Boling Jr., Donald (Pam) Boling, Sharon Murali and Catherine (Joseph) Jackson; step children, Robert Allen (Vicki) Basey and Donna Lou Basey; grandchildren, Kent Boling, Amber (Christopher) Shallenberger, Chelsea Boling, Ashley (Michael-John) Waite, Brittany (Mike Cupps) Jackson, Alaina Murali and Keegan Murali; 10 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson; 2 step grandsons; 2 step great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Melvin Basey; sister, Patricia Jo; grand and great grandparents; many aunts and uncles and several sleeping Angel grand and great grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Pastor Christopher Shallenberger officiating. Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
In Lieu of flowers the family ask to make donations to the Henry County Cancer Society.
