Donna J. “Jeanne” Brechbuhler, age 91, of Canton Township, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, surrounded by her family at Aultman Compassionate Care Center. Born in Canton, Ohio, on July 5, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Maynard “Pete” Steiner and Lula Anderson. Jeanne remained a proud lifelong resident of the Canton community, where she built a life rooted in faith, family, and friendship.
A 1952 graduate of Canton Timken High School, Jeanne lived a life marked by kindness and devotion. She was a dedicated and active member of North Industry United Methodist Church, where her presence brought warmth and joy to many. She also enjoyed the camaraderie of her friends at the Canton South AARP, her bowling league, and her card club—pastimes that brought her much laughter and connection over the years.
Jeanne worked at Danner Press during her early years, but her greatest role—the one she held most dear—was that of wife, mother, homemaker, and dedicated caregiver. She poured her heart into creating a loving home and nurturing those around her. Her gentle spirit, unwavering support, and deep love will be missed beyond measure.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 59 years, Willard D. Brechbuhler, who passed on June 18, 2017; their son, Kevin Brechbuhler; her parents; and her stepmother, Grace Steiner.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Vickie Brechbuhler; and her two adored grandchildren, Chad and Elise Brechbuhler. They, along with extended family and friends, will forever hold close the many beautiful moments shared with Jeanne. The family also extends special thanks to Jeanne’s caregivers, Donna and Azizarae, for their dedication and compassion.
Funeral services to celebrate Jeanne's life will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at North Industry United Methodist Church, 155 Faircrest St. SW, Canton, OH 44706, with Pastor Suzanah Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit the church one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
