Donna Jean Brooks passed away November 11, 2023, at Carolina Medical Center. She was born in Charleston, West Virginia on August 24, 1942 to the late Orville and Elizabeth Carpenter Davis.

Donna was a very vibrant woman in her younger years.  She loved going to concerts with her friends and having lots of fun! She was full of energy and enthusiasm and smart. Some say she looked as good as Elizabeth Taylor when she was in her 20's. Plus she was a housewife with three children.

Donna was funny and she loved to cook and was creative. At one time she touched up photos at Olin Mills. She ran a game room and arcade in the early 80's. Later on she was a CNA ll and did home health care. Donna loved all types of music especially gospel.

This was on Donna's Facebook page; **Life Is Too Short** Grudges are a waste of happiness. Laugh when you can, apologize when you should, and let go of what you can't change. Love deeply and forgive quickly. Life is too short to be unhappy.

Donna loved her family and her friends, and she will be greatly missed by everyone.

Donna is survived by her children Mitchell Davis, Belinda Armstrong and Rebecca Smith; a sister Debbie Selbe; 21 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm on December 2, 2023, at Love Memorial Baptist Church, 311 E. Walnut Ave. Gastonia, North Carolina with Rev. David Philbeck officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service
