Obituary of Donna Capozzoli
With profound sadness, we share that Donna passed peacefully on June 20, 2025, at the age of 69, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Donna was the heart of her family, a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, cherished sister, aunt, and dear friend. Her strength, grace, and deep compassion touched all who knew her.
She is reunited with her husband, Jim, her parents, John and Vi Coia, her in-laws, Rose and Louis Capozzoli, her sisters-in-law, Jeannie Bartosiewicz and Margie Cumbo, and her brother-in-law, Louis Capozzoli.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in her son, Michael (Paige Sawyer), stepsons, Mark (Ivonne), Chris (Erin) and Jimmy Capozzoli, grandchildren, Olivia, Michelle, Max, Ryan, Ayla, and Adam, and great-granddaughter, Ada. She is also survived by her siblings, John (Jeannette), Gary (Kim), and Kim Coia, her sisters-in-law, Nancy Crispino and Rita Capozzoli, many extended family members, and close friends, including Mary Centofonti and Sally Bittner.
Our heartfelt thanks to Andrea Calloway and the nurses and volunteers at the Sunset House for their loving care in Donna's final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna's memory may be made to Sunset House, 3746 St. Paul Blvd, Rochester, NY 14617.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 25 at 9:30 a.m. at Asbury First United Methodist Church – Private burial to follow.
