Donna Jean Barber Chandler;
Donna Jean Chandler, known for her unwavering dedication as a Nurse Assistant at North Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, has peacefully passed away at the place she served so faithfully. Born on August 27, 1960, in Athens, Georgia, Donna's life was a testament to compassion and care.
Throughout her career, Donna touched the lives of countless patients and their families with her warmth and kindness. Her legacy at North Ridge Health will forever be remembered by those she cared for selflessly. Outside of work, Donna found immense joy in being surrounded by her thirteen grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will endure through generations.
In her role as a mother and grandmother, Donna exemplified love and tenderness. She was proceeded in death by her husband Rickey Chandler and father Harold Barber. She leaves behind a grieving family who will miss her greatly. Donna is survived by her mother Margaret Williams Barber; children Bryan (Lena) Chandler, Holly (Jerome) Blalock, Nicole (Jason) Elrod, and Samantha Chandler; as well as brothers Brad Barber, Rex Barber, and sister Robin Kinsey.
Donna's proudest accomplishments were rooted in her deep faith and kindness towards others. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to loving the Lord and spreading positivity wherever she went. Her departure on July 11, 2024, into the loving arms of Jesus marks the end of a life lived with purpose and grace.
The visitation and funeral service to honor Donna Jean Chandler will be held at Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce, Georgia, on July 14, 2024. The visitation will commence at 12:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. The interment will take place at Grey Hill Cemetery in Commerce at 2:30 PM.
Donna's absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory will forever remain a beacon of light for those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing that her love continues to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
