Donna Chatfield Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 5, 2025.
Donna Chatfield (94) passed away of natural causes at The Little Hospice in Edina on Friday, October 17th, 2025. Donna is preceded in death by her husband, David, her father Herman, her mother Bernice, her brothers Gene and Jack, and her sister Marion. She is survived by her sister Carol, two sons Kurt (Luann) and Dake (Deirdre); and her grandchildren Joshua, Sarah, Marsden, and Avery.
Donna grew up in Clinton, Iowa, with her 4 siblings. She was a tomboy and always made her mother nervous that she might get into mischief when she was out playing with friends. She went on many adventures as a young adult, some with her younger sister Carol, as a guide. She received a degree in education and went on to teach elementary education for many years. Donna married David Chatfield and moved to Bloomington, Minnesota, where she raised 2 reckless boys and helped with daycare for 4 grandchildren.
Donna always had a positive attitude. She had a good sense of humor and sometimes was a little silly. She was outgoing and made a friend everywhere she went. She lit up every room she walked into. She was steadfast in her faith and taught Sunday School and attended church regularly. Donna was an admirer of outdoor scenery, always finding beauty everywhere she looked. She loved to cook, garden, and spend time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She fondly remembered her dogs that she had with her in all stages of her life. She will be sorely missed.
A small family service is being held at her last place of residence, Founders Ridge in Bloomington, on Monday, November 10, at 2:30 PM.
