Donna Citino Obituary
SALEM - Donna Rose (Kniseley) Citino, 94, of Salem passed away February 21, 2024.
She was born in Salem on October 25, 1929, to John and Martha (Smith) Kniseley.
Donna graduated from Salem High School in 1947 and subsequently was hired as a telephone operator by Ohio Bell formerly located in Salem on Lundy Avenue. That same year she married Robert Citino (1925-2023), the love of her life. Robert passed in September 2023 just two months short of what would have been their 76 th wedding anniversary on November 27.
When Ohio Bell closed in Salem, Donna continued to work for ATT in Youngstown, Ohio as an operator, schedule clerk and trainer. Her career spanned 36 years between 1947 and retirement in 1992.
She is survived by two daughters both of Salem, Barbara Citino Hans and Karen Citino Stepo; three grandsons all of Salem, Matthew Citino, Elliot Citino and Nicholas Stepo; one granddaughter, Maggie Stepo Sullivan and her husband Dillon Sullivan of North Carolina; and one niece, Karen Penny Mylar of Alliance, Ohio. Also, step-granddaughter, Alysia (Steven) Cappitte and three step-great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Cameron and Skylar Cappitte.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Robert Citino; a son, Robert "Bob" Citino; one grandson, Eric Citino; her sister, Betty Jane (Kniseley) Penny; and son-in-law, Joseph Stepo.
Donna requested no calling hours or visitation. Any donations to Hospice of the Valley, 2388 B Southeast Blvd., Salem, Ohio 44460 would be sincerely appreciated.
