Donna Irene Clark (n. Goewert), mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 6, 2025 at the age of 78. Born on September 25, 1946, Donna lived a life defined by compassion, resilience and a tireless dedication to others.

Donna was born and raised in Missouri, but Cartersville, Georgia was her home for almost 40 years, much of that with her loving husband Tommy Clark. Donna and Tommy were married in June 1996 and spent over 28 memorable years together.

She served many years at the Bartow County Sheriff’s office, as well as Shaw Industries and was known not only for her strong work ethic but also for her calm, capable presence and unwavering support of colleagues. She took pride in doing things the right way, whether she was solving a complicated problem or offering a word of encouragement to someone who needed it.

Outside of work, Donna had a wide range of passions that reflected her generous spirit and curious mind. She loved music – singing, dancing, playing piano – and for many years was a member of the choir at her beloved Trinity United Methodist Church in Cartersville, Georgia. She was a gifted gardener, cook and baker. Her home was often filled with the scent of homemade meals and treats.

Donna is survived by her sister Diane (Goewert) Shaffer, brother Matthew & wife Cindy Goewert, her children Craig & Teraza (Jones) Campbell, Melissa (Campbell) & Rosario Rosone, stepchildren Keith Clark, Mark & Christi (Clark) Fenton and grandchildren / grand stepchildren Rylee (Campbell) & Tyler Stanford, Amelia Campbell, Adam Campbell, Giuseppe Rosone, Ben & Lexi Clark, Ashley Wolff, Nick Clark, Anna Wolff, and Savanna Clark and great grandchild Delainey Clark.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Clark, parents Ed & Irene Goewert, brother Mark Goewert, brother-in-law Terry Shaffer, son Scott Campbell and stepdaughter Vicki Wolff.

Donna’s memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love have left an indelible mark on our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so generously shared with the world.

A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 16 at 10 AM at 814 West Avenue, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Georgia Chapter https://www.alz.org/georgia or Special Olympics Georgia https://www.specialolympicsga.org/support/make-a-donation/
