Donna Lee Coin

Donna Lee Coin, aged 68, died unexpectedly at home Friday evening February 24, 2023. Donna was born to Robert and Germaine Tousignant on June 23, 1954 in Marquette, MI. Donna's father was in the military and they moved around throughout the country, settling in the Breckenridge area. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1973. In 1975 Donna met the love of her life, Terry Robert Coin, while working as a waitress at Lanny's Restaurant in Sanford, MI. They fell madly in love and eloped on February 6, 1975. They had three children: Shawn, Melissa, and Krystle.
Donna and Terry built a full and loving life together. They always did many activities with their family and friends. Donna was an avid photographer of family and events and the children's activities, eventually earning the nickname at the school "the camera lady". She was also an extraordinary baker and cake decorator. Making treats all winter long to generously provide snack trays to loved ones. Donna was also intensely passionate about genealogy tracing the family roots back several generations and organizing family reunions. She was also a Boy Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, perpetual field trip chaperone, and finder of unique activities.
Donna was preceded in death by their son Shawn, her parents Robert and Germaine, and several aunts and uncles. Donna is survived by her husband Terry, daughters Melissa and Krystle, grandchildren; Zoey Stella, Sophia Kay, Eva Germaine, Ryley Shawn-Matthew, Nicholas Leon-Terry, Rauiri Keirnan, and Amelia Waverly. Her brothers Anthony (Val) Tousignant, Robert Tousignant, and several nieces and nephews, aunt, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday March 3, 2023 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday March 2, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
