Donna Marie Cook

Donna Marie Cook (nee Smejkal), age 76, of Hinsdale, IL and Naples, FL passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2 nd. Beloved wife of James C. Cook for a wonderful 53 years. Loving mother of James S. (Caroline) Cook and Pamela Marie (Michael) Lins. Devoted grandmother of Benjamin and Joshua Cook, and Connor James and Abigail Marie Lins. Dear sister of Ruth Ann (Donald S.) Whittaker. Cherished sister-in-law of Joanne H. (Steven) Nichols. Fond aunt of many. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Beatrice Smejkal.

Donna was a proud graduate of Riverside Brookfield High School and the College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She was an active member of Christ Church of Oak Brook, where she held numerous leadership roles in mission outreach and children's ministries. While living in Naples, she helped bring many women to faith in Christ by growing the Mediterra Women's Bible study to over 100 members.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55 th St., Countryside. Guests are invited to a service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10, at Christ Church of Oak Brook, 501 Oak Brook Rd., Oak Brook, IL 60523.
